Volunteer

We’re always looking for volunteers, especially in our garden; odd jobs around the house; and in our office. Please email margaretcb@thoreaufarm.org, with your interest and skills, and we’ll match you to a volunteer position.

Openings: Gardeners

Thoreau Farm is looking for gardeners with organic gardening experience to volunteer in our 1878 kitchen garden.

This is a demonstration garden to introduce visitors to the birth house of Henry David Thoreau to the type of vegetables, herbs and flowers that might have been grown in the Thoreau family kitchen garden.

Volunteers will carry out numerous gardening duties and have the opportunity to learn about heirloom plants and organic nutrient-dense gardening.

Volunteers should be willing to commit to two-to-six hours a week, with the Garden Manager starting in May and ending in early October. Flexible schedule.

Email margaretcb@thoreaufarm.org for more information.
