Meditating on Trees

Thorea and the Language of Trees

Sunday, June 29 at 3:00 pm

The Trust will participate in Fruitlands' "Branching Out" program in conjunction with their "Tree Figures" exhibit by sculptor Joseph Wheelwright. Concord resident Richard Higgins will explore Thoreau's impassioned feeling for trees, which spoke to him in many ways. He loved them for their wildness and studied their "principles of growth" and ecological role. This illustrated talk will explore the more impressionistic topic of trees as a canvas to Thoreau's artistry and an elixir to his imagination. Event is free with regular admission to Fruitlands ($10 adult, $8 senior, $5 children). Learn more about the Fruitlands Museum here.
